In the Shop: Dream Makeover

Have you popped over to the Etsy shop for a visit lately? You might have noticed some changes. After the spring sale, I FINALLY stripped out all the old product, old photos & styles. It was very therapeutic!

I’m in love with the finished results: simple product photos in a consistent style and curated colour palette reflecting the shabby chic style. My Etsy shop finally feels like it has FOCUS. I love making so many different things and playing around with an endless rainbow, but those qualities don’t necessarily translate to a beautiful shop. I wrote in a previous blog post about figuring out just what Bubblegum Sass is truly all about. Four years of trial & error and now I feel like I get to say “ta-daaa!”

There’s a lot of creative vomit that seems to have to happen before you can get to the really good stuff. Let me just say friends, I truly feel on the verge of the really good stuff right now.

Today when you visit my Etsy shop, it’s like walking through the doors of a brick-and-mortar store. There’s a look & feel & style. It’s an experience, instead of just an online shop with random items. Or at least, that’s what I’m aiming for. There will still be some tinkering here & there, but things are feeling good. It’s definitely the makeover I’ve been desiring for my shop for a while now.

I’m also delighted to share that my shop surpassed 100 sales this month!! A milestone and small business goal that I have had written down since opening my shop. It felt like a long road to travel to reach that number and I’m hoping the next 100 sales come & go more quickly. Don’t get me wrong, I do see beyond the simple numbers of this creative business. I see the orders from new international destinations like France & Puerto Rico, I read the lovely messages sent by happy customers, and I envision my pretty Love Catchers hanging in the nursery of so many new babies. It is certainly not all about the numbers. It’s about the love.
