Farm Days: Hello June

Farm Days: Hello June! An update on Happiness By The Acre family farm

One of the high points of our late spring and rapid thaw at the end of April was our huge dugout filled right up to the top! Two years supply of water, letting us make it through some serious drought conditions, filled in three days. It was pretty astounding.

With livestock coming into the farm picture things are rapidly getting busy. We have 25 chicks growing up at our house in town, and here is a shot of Lachlan building their summer home. A mobile chicken coop that we can follow behind the cows to break up the cow-pies and scatter the manure through the fields. Eggs and pasture sanitation in one go, with a healthy dose of nitrogen heafty chicken poo!

Up next, barns, farm stores, and learning the ropes with cows! June is going to be a busy month as well.
