This past weekend was the first YYC Growers “A Christmas Gift Market”, which I organized, managed & was a vendor at. If that sounds like a lot, it was. I was also prepared to do a workshop that day, but didn’t have any signups. Another time maybe. I didn’t let that get me down though. The market was small but mighty in creativity & the most wonderful vendors. Very thankful for the time spent getting to know them & their journeys.
The gift market was focused on promoting locally made goods & Calgary artisans of varied media & background, to go alongside our very locally grown veggies & food products. Our small family farm is part of the YYC Growers Cooperative, and contribute product to it off & on throughout the year. Although slightly stressful & nerve-wracking to organize a market with such a short timeline, it was really satisfying! Definitely flamed a spark I have had simmering in my creative brain since hosting events at the farm.
Just wanted to showcase the lovely vendors that took the day to be at the market. If you are in need of gifts, you can still find them at other markets around town in the coming weeks or contact them personally. I’m sure they would love to hear from you.
