Hiya! Popping by to share some Friday Fun Facts with you. Last week, Marcus shared his past jobs with you and now it’s my turn!
About time for another round of Friday Fun Facts, where you get to learn a little bit more about our contributors. Today Marcus shares his past jobs with you. Past employment does not, by any means, define you, but it is an interesting way to see where you have been at different stages in life. I always find it fascinating to learn where people have worked!
I love summer. A lot. And I love getting out on adventures- big and small, near and far – with my kids.
Summer is fast approaching, but I’ve been trying to take note of our spring garden treats. Spring in Calgary can go by so quickly! One of our shortest seasons. Blossoms today, gone tomorrow. Our simple backyard garden in the city offers some lovely nibbles though & that’s what I want to share with you today.
Who’s excited to know a bit more about our contributor, Shauna? Well, it’s her chance to dish on the “early years” in this week’s installment of Friday Fun Facts! Grab your coffee {or tea} and take a peek.
Time for another installment of our Friday Fun Facts series and I’m super excited to include hubby, Marcus! He will be joining the blog crew over the coming months to share about our very first chicken flock {YES, chickens} and some other helpful farming/homesteading/growing posts. But most importantly, we welcome him to bring a “dad’s perspective” to this whole parenting thing! First, let’s get to know him a little bit more…
Had the immense pleasure of attending my first “paint nite” a couple of weeks ago. It was actually my Christmas gift to my sister-in-law. A mom’s night off to drink wine, chat, and do something creative together. I booked spots in a class at Raw Canvas in Kensington. There are several places around Calgary that offer similar things {even found one for doing “rustic sign painting”, which I would love to try}. I picked Raw Canvas because a friend had attended a paint nite there.
A new little series on the blog, Friday Fun Facts is just what it sounds like! Sharing some random tidbits about each of the blog contributors, so you can get to know us more. I’m starting us off this week by talking about my early years…
As a household, we get excited for Christmas, we grab hold of events and traditions, we bake, we sing, we watch our favourite movies.
This year I’ve been trying extra hard to keep things simple and our schedule more open than past years.
I also want to try a few “retro” activities like simply driving around in pajamas to look at lights. Maybe build a classic gingerbread house. Some sledding. That kind of stuff.
I’m trying to avoid the bustle a bit.
150 years, still makes for a young country. And certainly we haven’t done everything right in the past, but I AM proud to be a Canadian and call this nation my birthplace & home. All my days.
So cheers to you, fellow Canadian makers, growers, movers, shakers, dreamers!
