Curated. Holiday Market in Calgary Nov 18-19th

THREE SLEEPS!!! That’s it until my last market of the year! And what a show to end 2016 on, the inaugural Curated. Holiday Market!! Formerly Vixens of Vintage, this market has undergone a huge facelift and brand update to meet the growing handmade scene. Still run by the same wonderful organizer and still full of amazing local vendors!

Curated is being held at the Red and White Club by the Stadium. There is a Market Eve shopping night on Friday Nov 18th from 5-9pm. Purchase your tickets NOW for that event, as only a limited number of tickets are being sold for it to ensure a relaxed shopping experience. Beat the crowds, grab a cocktail and start your Christmas shopping!

The market opens to the public on Saturday Nov 19th from 10am-4pm, with $4 admission at the door.

And again, this is my last market of the year, and last one for a while probably, so stop by and say “hi”.

Cowboy Up! {Calgary Stampede Style} ~ Family Fun at the Calgary Stampede ~ By Bubblegum Sass

 

There’s plenty of things to be proud about the city of Calgary. No matter, how cheesy, loud or crazy it gets, the Calgary Stampede is one of those things! As a born & raised Calgarian, I still get excited every summer for the Stampede. I anxiously look for the booklet in the mail, mark out a day when we can go down {and hopefully catch the World Stock Dog Championship}, and daydream of mini donuts until the fateful day arrives. Are you this nuts about Stampede, or is it just me? It can’t be just me, not when attendance can crack 1.2 million people each year!! Anywho, I thought I’d just share some highlights from our adventure this year.

Yes, truly ecstatic to be included in this upcoming market! FINALLY! It’s been on the list of shows I’ve wanted to attend for quite a while, but could just never squeeze into the schedule. Well, to heck with that this year. I’m diving in and so very pleased that Vixens of Vintage has welcomed me!

Crafted Artisan Truck in Calgary ~ unique mobile retail featuring local artists & designers

It’s HERE!! Or Rather, it WILL be very soon. The Crafted Artisan Truck will be hitting the streets of Calgary next month. I was thrilled to see the crowd source funding for this project {which I blogged about previously} come through and it has been a pleasure to watch Pam’s journey since last June. The Truck, which underwent a bit of a facelift and re-brand, looks like it’s coming together nicely. Can’t wait to set foot onto it, once it’s all decked out with everyone’s work!

Speaking of work, a colorful collection of Bubblegum Sass items are on their way to the Truck. You’ll find a selection of Love Catchers, Button Brooches, Button Hair Clips, and Upcycled Cuff Bracelets by little ‘ol me in the Truck. I’ve been hard at work on making and tagging the last few weeks {including new stamps & tags as part of my rebrand). Feels good to have everything out the door now.

The other exciting bit of news is the Crafted will offer workshops throughout the year, led by a variety of local artists & designers! The Spring/Summer 2015 schedule is up and registration is NOW OPEN! I’ve even registered for a couple workshops myself just for fun (hello weaving!) and for work (photo styling, yes please). Pssst… I might also have scored a spot in a workshop that you’ll have a chance to win next month. Seriously good stuff to look forward to!

Market Collective Holiday 2014 Poster

Annnnd it’s HERE!! This weekend is the first Market Collective Holiday show of the season! Come on down to the Chinese Cultural Centre Friday 4-9pm, and Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm. There’s a $5 entrance fee for the weekend (kids under 12 get in free) or you can score a THREE weekend pass for only $10 (limited quantities available). Yep, THREE weekends of shopping local, unique, handmade items. This little gal will only be at one of the weekends, so you best come out and say “Hi” this Friday, Saturday or Sunday!
