Back in January, I started my sewing room makeover. Well, not just a makeover, an entire move. My studio space was originally in the extra bedroom on our main floor, but as we make space in our world for a future adoption & my craft business changes, it became necessary to move it into the basement. Finally getting around to sharing some of the process and the “after”.
“Under Construction” I should have this tattooed on me. Or at least a t-shirt.
We’re pretty much always “under construction”, as we move through our days, weeks, & months. For me, right now, I’m at an interesting tipping point.
Look up. Waaaaay up. You might notice a few changes in the top menu bar of the blog. I’ve added in a Farm page and Oil Life page to reflect more aspects of the journey I share on the blog. And those aren’t the only changes…
Welcome 2018. Like a lot of folks, I’m pondering what this new year holds. I’ve been reading back over past business plans, ideas & motivations. Wondering how to un-stick myself {because, boy am I stuck!}. All the while, I am conscious of how demanding the farm will be again this year…
I’m thinking this year is going to be about playful creativity and branching out; trying to rekindle the magic in making and striving to combine both farm & craft life in some unique product offerings.
Oh and also more tattoos!
2018 you are my blank canvas, and I am yours!
Ah yes, it’s that time again. The year has drawn to a close and it begs for some reflection before we walk much farther into 2018. {You can find my reviews from past years here}
Let’s get started with some tidbits about the year!
Today is post Black Friday blues to some and Small Business Saturday to others!! I encourage you to shop small this holiday season, and support local makers. You can start off today by checking out any number of local holiday markets that focus on handmade items. Or pop over to Etsy where you will find thousands of shops offering special sales this weekend to celebrate small businesses! Even I’m getting into the spirit of things… enjoy 25% off my ENTIRE Etsy shop today & tomorrow! Sales don’t come along too often in my shop, so please take advantage of this one!
There’s always fun to be had at the farm! Or at least, I think there is. Give a warm “howdy” to these new themed Dreamcatchers! Sunshine yellow and super happy! These will brighten any little room the kiddos lay their head or play.
150 years, still makes for a young country. And certainly we haven’t done everything right in the past, but I AM proud to be a Canadian and call this nation my birthplace & home. All my days.
So cheers to you, fellow Canadian makers, growers, movers, shakers, dreamers!
How about a warm, glitter-filled welcome to these *NEW* Pastel Rainbow Unicorn Dreamcatchers! So much cuteness!
