There’s lots of time being spent in the kitchen these days. It’s not the weather that’s keeping us in there, it’s just the season. Growing season means lots of preserving to do. Chopping, freezing, drying, and boiling. Repeat. So how about a little peek into the kitchen over the past couple of weeks?

What a beautiful array of herbs and flowers! It looks like your growing is going splendidly!
That rhubarb pie looks so good. Feels like every blog is commenting on rhubarb, which is a great reminder for me to plant one. My inlaws used to have a big plant in their backyard that we would raid (the kids liked to eat it raw), but, they moved last year…so I’m fresh out.
How does that dandelion syrup taste? I’ve never heard of that.
I used raw cane sugar to make the dandelion syrup and so it took on the flavor and colour of that. Only a slight dandelion flavor. Sweet & good, nonetheless. I can’t wait to have a bunch of our own rhubarb plants on the farm, but for now, the two that my mom has keeps us fully stocked. Her one plant has gotta be like 25-35 years old!
