Living With Essential Oils: Mama’s Perfume

Living with Essential Oils: Mama's Perfume ~ DIY Perfume with Young Living Oils

It’s kind of incredible how much of a “scent” person I have become. In some ways, I always have been. I’ve collected many scent memories from my childhood {my Grandma Rosie’s perfume, my mother’s hand cream, the Avon moisturizer we put on after sunburns each summer} and whenever I went on a big trip across the world, I purchased a new perfume to wear {just so that I would build a scent association}. Scents have the power to transport us back in time, make the here & now melt away, even if just for a few seconds.

In recent years, I have worn less scents. Something to do with becoming a mama. I relished the scent of Sam {still do really} and all his baby soaps & such. But lately, I’ve been longing for my own daily scent. I use plenty of essential oil roll-ons as remedies for this & that, but nothing that has been more of a perfume.

That is, until I was introduced to JOY.

And now I’m all about Joy, sometimes on its own. Sometimes paired with Geranium and Lavender essential oils. How to describe it…? It makes my heart flutter a bit and then float in a happy place.

If I think I’m going to be in a stressful situation {like large groups or crowds} then I rub a little Lavender on my ear lobes, to bring my fluttering heart down to a calm, even spot.

And Joy. It just feels like me. Right now. A scent I want to remember these moments, these days with. Because there is much to rejoice & delight in, even on the hardest of days.

What scent would you want to remember your time, right now, with?
